Description
Pierre et Gilles: The Construction of a Symbol is an exhibition that brings together the works of this legendary French artistic duo for the first time in Mexico. Through a unique style that combines staged photography with meticulous painting, the artists portray celebrities, models, and imaginary characters in compositions rich in symbolism. The 96 selected works establish a visual dialogue with pieces from the Franz Mayer Collection, exploring themes such as the power of gestures, the symbolism of objects, allegory, and desire.
The exhibition is divided into five thematic sections and features never-before-seen pieces created especially for the occasion. During their first visit to Mexico, the artists will present the official catalogue at Marrakech Salón, an icon of LGBTQ+ nightlife in the capital. In addition, visitors can enjoy a program of parallel activities and workshops that enrich this transformative artistic proposal. An unmissable exhibition for those seeking art, diversity, and symbolism in a single experience.
